A Brief Backstory
In 2015, I had a dream.
I dreamt of guiding artists to believe in and trust themselves in their art and life. I’d been doing this work for over 20 years in existential psychiatry, and now it was time to thread it into art and creativity which had always been my secret love.
Indeed, for me, psychotherapy is about guiding a person to their most meaningful life. My big, juicy audacious dream has been to weave art and psychiatry together.
This is the work of my life.
And so, answering the call of this dream, I set off on my artist’s journey and was immediately plunged into perils.
The problem was that I didn’t know how to do what I wanted to do. I didn’t know how to create the course, I wasn’t a digital native and I had no business training.
I was starting from ground zero. I was on the path to creating something from whole cloth.
I felt like Dante in The Inferno, awakening in a dark wood where the true way was wholly lost.
Fearful and not knowing what I was doing, I went ahead anyway. I slogged through the dark forest of “not knowing” and many times felt like giving up.
I faced down my own dark night of the soul where all felt lost.
It was only then, in my darkest hour, that my mentor materialized. Like Seabiscuit emerging miraculously through the fog (you must read Laura Hillenbrand’s book Seabiscuit if only to experience that indelible moment when Seabiscuit emerges and understand why I’m referencing it), my mentor appeared seemingly out of thin air.
It was one of those moments in life when you find someone and you know in your bones that you were destined to meet and your life will never be the same.
My mentor and friend is the amazing Jeanine Blackwell.
Jeanine guides entrepreneurs to bring alive their passions and expertise into the world in order to make a difference.
Jeanine is on fire with guiding others to create their most meaningful, transformational courses- their magnum opus, the courses that come from their heart, the courses that change people’s lives.
Much love,
Nancy

They do say that when the student is ready the teacher appears. And you did! Grateful for everything you do to help me move forward as an artist. You’ve built a international creative community and it’s amazingly inspiring to be among them. How fantastic to have your wonderful work and passion showcased in this way, Nancy. SO well deserved.
Thank you so much dear Ruth. You are one of those angels who appears in one’s life like a bluebird. I’m so honored to have you in my course and in my life. Thank you!
